Help! Hurricane Milton destroyed our home. It’s finally fixed and we need to connect our printer to the internet via our new WiFi network.

Hi @smhag,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I'm sorry to hear about your circumstances, and I'm glad to hear your home is now fixed. Let's get your HP printer connected to your new WiFi network. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you:

Prepare Your Printer:

  • Ensure your printer is turned on.

  • Check if it has a touchscreen control panel or a setup wizard through an app.

Access Wireless Setup Wizard:

  • On printers with a touch display, navigate to the wireless icon (often displayed as an antenna or signal bars).

  • Go to "Settings" or "Setup," then "Network," and finally "Wireless Setup Wizard."

Select Your Network:

  • The wizard will search for available networks. Select your WiFi network from the list.

  • Enter the WiFi password correctly when prompted.

Connect Without Touchscreen:

  • If your printer doesn’t have a touchscreen, connect using WPS:

    • Ensure the printer supports WPS.

    • Press the WPS button on your router.

    • Within two minutes, press and hold the Wireless button on your printer.

Confirmation:

  • The printer should confirm a connection with either a checkmark on the display, a blinking wireless light turning solid, or a printout.

HP Smart App (Optional):

  • You can also set up your printer using the HP Smart App available on mobile or desktop.

  • Follow in-app instructions to connect your printer to WiFi.

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
