Wireless Direct "discovered on the forum"
For those printers that support Wireless Direct (not all printers support this feature),
- If the printer supports Wi-Fi Direct / Wireless Direct / Direct Wi-fi,
- There should be a Wireless Direct / Wi-Fi Direct button on the printer panel,
- There should be mention of the feature in the printer User Guide that includes how to use / manage the Wireless Direct setup.
Wireless Direct is a Wireless connection method used between the printer and your computer without the use of a network Router.
Wireless Direct and Standard Wireless are NOT compatible
- If you have a standard network (including a router),
- If your printer supports Wi-Fi Direct / Wireless Direct / Direct Wi-fi,
- If you have Wireless Direct enabled on the printer,
- The standard Wireless connection between your printer and your network will not function.
- If you have an actual network (that includes a router),
- If your printer supports Wi-Fi Direct / Wireless Direct / Direct Wi-fi,
- If you want to connect to the standard network,
- Switch OFF Wireless Direct.
- If you do not have an actual network (that includes a router),
- IF the printer supports Wireless Direct (there is a Wireless Direct on the printer panel),
- If you want to connect the printer to the computer wirelessly,
- Use / Enable Wireless Direct,
- See the printer User Guide for instructions on setup and use.
