Wireless Direct "discovered on the forum"

For those printers that support Wireless Direct (not all printers support this feature),

  • If the printer supports Wi-Fi Direct / Wireless Direct / Direct Wi-fi,
  • There should be a Wireless Direct / Wi-Fi Direct button on the printer panel,
  • There should be mention of the feature in the printer User Guide that includes how to use / manage the Wireless Direct setup.

Wireless Direct is a Wireless connection method used between the printer and your computer without the use of a network Router.

Wireless Direct and Standard Wireless are NOT compatible

  • If you have a standard network (including a router),
  • If your printer supports Wi-Fi Direct / Wireless Direct / Direct Wi-fi,
  • If you have Wireless Direct enabled on the printer,
  • The standard Wireless connection between your printer and your network will not function.

  • If you have an actual network (that includes a router),
  • If your printer supports Wi-Fi Direct / Wireless Direct / Direct Wi-fi,
  • If you want to connect to the standard network,
  • Switch OFF Wireless Direct.

  • If you do not have an actual network (that includes a router),
  • IF the printer supports Wireless Direct (there is a Wireless Direct on the printer panel),
  • If  you want to connect the printer to the computer wirelessly,
  • Use / Enable Wireless Direct,
  • See the printer User Guide for instructions on setup and use.
