Hi Rainow23
thanks for your response. I had changed the name of the printer as you suggest. This however is not quite what I was after as this pertains only to the device the printer gets installed.
I have 2 independent wi-fi networks and 3 of the HP Laserjet MFP M140w. The first network is a wi-fi incorporated with the main network, subject to corporate policies. The second wi-fi network is completely independent from the first. The purpose of this network is to enable technicians internet access with their personal devices. One of the printers is dedicated to this network (via cloud printing). The other 2 printers are installed and set up via USB to individual work stations on the main network. All 3 printers broadcast names like DIRECT-99-HP M140 LaserJet, DIRECT-87-HP M140 LaserJet etc. The issue I have is that people constantly try to print to the wrong printer. I would like to change the broadcast name of the printer to something like “Technet-Printer”. Is this possible?
