Like almost every day I was sending some mails with pdfs to my printer. Normally, I receive a response within 2 minutes and if there's any issue, the job is canceled after 24 hours at the latest. That was two weeks ago, and since then I have not received any response from the printer. All other print and scan functions are working.
May troubleshooting so far: I searched for updates, sended a message from an other, but also allowed e-mail adress, disconnected the printer several times, changed the printer´s mailadress...nothing worked.
Most recently, I noticed that the online services are available but not connected, and the printer is unable to retrieve its email address. I can´t change anything about that. Does anyone have an idea how I might resolve this issue?

@MelmacAlf, You're very welcome and thank you for the detailed follow-up. It’s great to hear that restarting Web Services helped, but I completely understand your frustration with the recurring issues and lack of reliability. Let’s address the remaining concerns:
Web Services Needing Frequent Restart
This could be due to:
- Network instability (e.g., dynamic IP changes, DNS issues)
- Firmware bugs
- HP server-side issues
Suggestions:
- Assign a static IP to your printer via your router settings.
- Set Google DNS (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) on the printer manually.
- Ensure the firmware is up to date (check monthly).
Changing Printer Email Address
If the printer email address is not updating or is stuck:
- Disable Web Services.
- Wait 5–10 minutes.
- Re-enable Web Services and do not reuse the old address.
- If it still fails, try from a different network (e.g., mobile hotspot) to rule out firewall issues.
No Feedback on Print Jobs
Here’s what you can do:
Check ePrint Job History:
- Log in to HP Smart.
- Go to your printer > Print History to see job status.
Enable Notifications:
- On the printer’s Embedded Web Server (EWS):
- Enter the printer’s IP in a browser.
- Go to Web Services > ePrint Settings.
- Ensure Job Status Notifications are enabled.
Approved Senders List:
- If enabled, only emails from approved addresses will be processed.
- Check and update this list in the HP Smart portal.
If You Want More Reliability
If ePrint continues to be unreliable, consider switching to HP Smart App printing:
- It offers real-time job tracking, cloud print, and mobile scanning.
- Available for Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS.
I hope this helps!

@MelmacAlf, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Based on your description and the troubleshooting you've already done, it sounds like the printer has lost its connection to HP's ePrint cloud services, which is why it's not receiving or processing email print jobs.
Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you resolve this:
Check Internet Connectivity
Ensure your printer is connected to the internet:
- On the printer control panel, go to Network Settings or Wireless Settings.
- Confirm that it’s connected to your Wi-Fi network.
- Try printing a Network Configuration Page to verify connectivity.
Restart Web Services
This is often the most effective fix for ePrint issues.
- On the printer control panel, tap the HP ePrint icon or go to Web Services.
- Select Settings or Setup.
- Tap Remove Web Services or Disable Web Services.
- Once removed, restart the printer.
- Go back to Web Services and tap Enable Web Services.
- Follow the prompts to re-enable and get a new printer email address.
Update Printer Firmware
Outdated firmware can cause connectivity issues.
- Go to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Update the Printer.
- Or visit the HP Software and Driver Downloads page, enter your printer model, and install the latest firmware.
Check HP Connected Account
Make sure your printer is still registered and active on your HP Connected account:
- Visit HP Smart / HP Connected and log in.
- Check if your printer is listed and shows as Connected.
- If not, re-add the printer using the Claim Code from Step 2.
Test ePrint
Send a test email with a PDF attachment to your printer’s new email address. Make sure:
- The sender’s email is on the Approved Senders List (if enabled).
- The email has no signatures or extra text—just the attachment.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Thank you for the advice – restarting the web services was the key. However, I had to do it again after two weeks.
Changing the printer’s email address turned out to be a problem.
Also, I often don’t receive any feedback on print jobs, even though the option is selected. So I don’t know whether the job is still in the queue or if ePrint has stopped working again.
It’s just not reliable.
