Hi @Ghannes

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the connection issue. issue.

Let's try the below steps to see if that helps -

1.) Remove All Barriers: Certain building materials can get in the way of weaker signals like Bluetooth. Metal, bulletproof glass, concrete, and plaster are particularly bad, and marble, plaster and brick aren’t great easy. So if you’re really struggling with interference, your first step should be to move your Bluetooth devices away from these materials. That means no brick walls between you and your devices, and definitely no metal desks!

2.) Change Router Channel: If you have an Apple router and you’re constantly getting interference with your WiFi, try rebooting it. Upon restart, the station will search for a new channel. Specifically, a different channel than the one your Bluetooth devices is using to communicate. If you don’t have an Apple router, you may need to instead go into your router settings and try changing the channel manually. Experiment with different channels to see which one works best.

3.) Move Closer to Your Router: If you often find that you’re getting interference when talking on a wireless headset while on a WiFi call (you’ll know because you’ll hear static), try moving closer to your router. This will give you a more robust WiFi connection, so the Bluetooth frequency can’t overpower it.

4.) Get Away From Microwaves and Fluorescent Lighting: Both emit frequencies of 2.4GHz, and moving away from them will distance you from the source.

I'd like to know the following to isolate the issue further-

1.) Are the printer and PC connected to the same network?

2.) Is your router dual-band enabled i.e., both 2.4GHz and 5GHz? If yes, make sure the dual band has different SSIDs for 2.4G and 5G networks.

3.) What is the distance between the router and the printer?

4.) Is there an antivirus software installed on your PC?

Try rebooting the devices -

1.) Turn off the Router, Printer, and the computer/ mobile devices.

2.) Wait for 60 seconds.

3.) Turn on the Router first and wait for all the lights to stabilize.

4.) Turn on the printer and allow it to configure itself.

5.) Turn on the computer/ mobile devices.

Try these steps to connect the printer - HP Printers - Changing from a USB to a Wireless Connection

You may also try these steps to connect -

1) Connect the printer using the Wireless Direct. Please refer to page#44 for steps - http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04697535

2) Open the browser and in the address or the URL bar type this - 192.168.223.1 to launch the EWS or the printer's page.

3) Go to the network tab > Wireless (802.11) and click on the Wireless Setup Wizard.

hi Asmita,

Thanks for your help. I have tried all of the above but no success. When i click 'enable' in the Web Service Setup section, I still see Connecting... and then soon after 'Connection error. Check Internet connection.'.

few questions:

1) Do i run the latest firmware of the printer? The Self Test / Device Configuration says Firmware Datecode 20130703 and Software driver version 20120926.

2) In another thread here at HP Community, I read that the problem was gone after replacement of the printer. Could that be an option to get this problem solved?

PS. I updated firmware to 20180301 but I still cannot enable ePrint, I get the same error 'Connection error. Check Internet connection.'

Thanks,

Hans

Hi Asmita,

My network does not use proxy server, so this is not the problem.

How can we fix this problem? Can HP replace my printer for one which can have ePrint enabled?

Thanks,

Hans

Thanks for replying @Ghannes

Please try assigning a Google DNS -

1. Get your printer's IP Address (Can find this under Network Config under Settings)

2. Type the IP into your web browser

3. On the left-hand side click on iPV4 under WIRED or WIRELESS (however you are connected)

4. Click Manual DNS

5. Under preferred type 8.8.8.8

6. Under alternate type 8.8.4.4

7. Unplug Modem from the wall. Wait 30 seconds. Plug back in.

8. Turn off your printer by pushing the power button. Wait 30 seconds. Power on.

Also, try updating the printer's firmware - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

Keep me posted.

hi,

thanks for you suggestion. I have both upgraded the firmware (see my previous post) and followed the steps and set the preferred and alternate DNS to the values suggested.

Unfortunately I still cannot activate ePrint, i get the same connection error.

How can I get ePrint get to work? Can you replace my printer?

Thanks,

Hans
