Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

 

It sounds like you're facing connectivity issues with your HP OfficeJet 3830, which can be pretty frustrating. Let's troubleshoot to get it working again.

Here are some things you can try:

 

Check Printer Connection

Wi-Fi connection: Make sure your printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Mac or phone. You can check the printer's display panel to confirm the connection.

USB connection: If you're connecting via USB, ensure that the cable is securely plugged into both the printer and your computer.

 

Restart Devices

Turn off your printer, your Mac, and your phone. Wait for about 30 seconds, then power them back on.

This helps reset any temporary connection issues.

 

Reinstall Printer on macOS

Remove the printer: Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners, then select your printer and click the minus sign (-) to remove it.

Re-add the printer: After removing, click the plus sign (+), then select your printer from the list and click Add.

If you don’t see the printer, make sure it’s turned on and connected to the network.

 

Check for macOS 10.15 Drivers

HP printers sometimes need specific drivers. Download the latest drivers from the HP website for macOS 10.15.

You may also try using the HP Smart app available in the Mac App Store to manage the printer.

 

Run HP Smart:

Update Printer Firmware (Update the firmware on an HP printer | HP® Support)

  • Go to the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page. Enter your printer model number and search for the latest firmware update. Follow the instructions to download and install the firmware update.
