old printer

I have an old HP Deskjet 3720, haven't used it in years im just wondering if it's not usable unless I have a laptop or the right cable to direct connect it to my phone? just trying to reset the password right now because I have no idea what it was. I've had it a long time

Connecting the Printer to Your Phone

Direct Connection with Cable:

• Use an appropriate USB OTG (On-The-Go) cable to connect your phone to the printer. Ensure your phone supports OTG functionality.

Wireless Connection:

• Ensure the printer is powered on and within range of your Wi-Fi network.
• Use the HP Smart app, available on both Android and iOS. This app can help you set up and manage your printer:
  • Download the HP Smart app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
  • Open the app and follow the instructions to add your printer. The app will help you connect to the printer wirelessly.

Resetting the Printer Password

If you need to reset the printer password for Wi-Fi, follow these steps:

Restore Network Settings:

• Press and hold the "Cancel" button and the "Wi-Fi" button on the printer for 3 seconds. This will restore the network defaults, removing the old password.

Reconfigure Wi-Fi Settings:

• Use the HP Smart app to set up the printer on your Wi-Fi network again. During this process, you can create a new password.

 

Using HP Smart App for Setup

1. Set Up Printer:
   • Open the HP Smart app on your phone.
