We recently changed internet providers. My desktop computer has a new Netgear modem router plugged into it. The printer always had connected to my computer wirelessly. Now it says it is NOT connected, both wirelessly and when plugged directly into the computer. In the HP Utility window, it says, "Unable to communicate with the selected device. It may have been turned off" (not true) "or otherwise disconnected." (also not true!) A similar message, "The printer is not connected" appears in the job queque. What can I do/change in order to get the printer to work again,? (And yes, everything has been turned off and restarted!!) Thanks!!

Hi,

Try removing the printer and then re-adding it by opening the preferences tab and then selecting "printers & scanners".

From there, click the minus sign under the printer icon to remove the printer and then re-add it using the plus sign.

This often helps if you are experienceing printer offline issues.

If you still can't find the printer, I would try the steps with the usb connected and if a wireless connection is established, then remove it.

If the issue persists, restart your mac and try again and if this doesn't help, then restart your router also.
