HP ENVY Photo 7855 All-in-One Printer

Hello, I am no longer able to print from my iPhone 13, neither through the HP app (which loads the document but the print butting remains gray) nor the print option in the iPhone menu.

Hi @hwgk,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

Were you able to print from your iPhone 13 before without any issues?

Were there any updates that happened recently on your iPhone 13?

I see that this printer may not be compatible with your current OS.

However, If you are unable to print from your iPhone 13 to your HP ENVY Photo 7855 All-in-One Printer, here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

1. Check Printer and iPhone Connectivity:

Wi-Fi Connection: Ensure that both your iPhone 13 and the HP ENVY Photo 7855 printer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

Printer Status: Check the printer's control panel to ensure it is not displaying any errors (such as paper jam, low ink, or offline status).

2. Update Printer Firmware:

  1. Firmware Update: Make sure your printer has the latest firmware installed. To check and update the firmware:
    • On the printer's control panel, navigate to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Update the Printer > Check for Updates.
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to update if a new firmware version is available.

3. Update iPhone Software:

  1. iOS Update: Ensure your iPhone 13 is running the latest version of iOS. Updates can sometimes include fixes for printing issues.
    • Go to Settings > General > Software Update on your iPhone to check for and install any available updates.

4. Reboot Devices:

  1. Restart Printer and iPhone: Power off your HP ENVY Photo 7855 printer and iPhone 13, then power them back on. This can refresh their connections and resolve temporary issues.

5. Check Printer Settings on iPhone:

  1. Printer Settings on iPhone: Make sure the HP ENVY Photo 7855 printer is selected as the default printer on your iPhone.
    • Open the app from which you want to print (such as Photos or Safari).
    • Tap the Share button or Settings (depending on the app) and select Print.
    • Verify that your HP printer is selected. If not, tap on Printer and select your HP printer from the list.

6. Reset Printing System (iPhone):

  1. Reset Printing System: Resetting the printing system on your iPhone can sometimes resolve connectivity issues:
    • Go to Settings > General > Reset on your iPhone.
    • Tap Reset > Reset Printing System. This will remove all printers added to your iPhone.
    • Set up your HP ENVY Photo 7855 printer again from scratch on your iPhone.

7. Reinstall HP Smart App (optional):

  1. HP Smart App: If you use the HP Smart app on your iPhone, try uninstalling and reinstalling it from the App Store to ensure you have the latest version.

If none of the above steps resolve the issue, contact HP Phone Support for further assistance.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
