Hello, I was wondering if anyone knew the difference between just regular airprint and secure airprint? I am fine with just using regular airprint as that works great straight out of the box and does not require me to install any software on my macbook.

Thanks for the information.

In simplest terms regular Airprint connects over IPP and Secure Airprint connects over IPPS.

IPPS is an excrypted IPP connection.  So, basically your print job data stream is encrypted as it travels over the network for additional security.

If Secure Aiprint is available for the device Apple wil offer Secure Airprint by default.  As the end user you should see no difference between the two.

While I may work for HP Inc, the views and opinions expressed here are my own.

Thank you very much! I kind of figured as much and once it told my daughter she needed a password I was pretty sure that was not the option she wanted so I switched it back to regular AirPrint. I may decide to do the Secure Airprint later on though. I am having a hard enough time trying to get them to embrace ePrint.
