Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

After updating IOBIT's Driver Booster  to version 4 , it updated 10 drivers [ whether one of those was the Audio I don't know ]

I then found [ after un- muting , it was late at night ] that i had no sound of any kind .

I have looked in Device manager , tried disabling and enabling .

Sound test failed [ that was the window i kept getting ]

I tried rollback to no avail

Am currently in touch with IOBIT and have sent them diagnostic report

Will notify if problem rectified before someone here offers support [ hopefully ]

I also cannot play MP3's in ANY of my media players

Thanks to anyone who responds

Hi,

First I recommend not to use driver booster or any other similar software. You can update your drivers from device manager or by searching on support page for your PC. You can also find audio and video drivers from the manufactuirer of the specific device.

Anyway please provide the exact model or product number of your G6 for further help (not serial number). Here is link to HP support page showing how to find it:

Hi,

Go into device manager and instead of disabling the audio device, uninstall the driver. Now reboot the PC and try installing this audio driver for your PC:

Hi David

I followed your instructions to the letter ...

It didn't work

On reboot toolbar notified no audio devices installed , then driver installation notification appeared followed by success notification , but I still have no sound at all

Please advise

Still awaiting response from IOBIT
