I've had this problem for a few months now. I'm not too sure when this problem arose(I'd say around the release of the windows 10 anniversary update, which I installed in early August). Pretty much what happens is that my laptop is fine for around 50 minutes to an hour(No audio desync on videos). Then after that said amount of time,  the computer's audio starts to desync. This goes for all programs. Let's say I watch a video ; it starts off fine but the longer it goes the worse the audio sync gets.  There is also an odd popping sound that occurs every once and a while when there is audio playing.  I've never had this happen to me before until early august. I have even went on the windows support to help me but it did little good.

I've tried everything, uninstalled and reinstalled all my audio drivers. Scanned my computer multiple times for a virus/malware, and even wiped my computer. The problem still persisted. I am close to giving up hope. There is one temporary solution I use, which is to put my computer to hibernation/shut down. Once it turns back on the audio is back to normal. But having to do that every 45-60 minutes is quite a bother.

@RaymondHr12,

Welcome to the HP forums! It is a great way to engage, post questions and find resolutions by working with specialists in the HP community. I understand you are having an audio issue after Windows 10 anniversary update. I'll be really happy to assist you with this.

After upgrading to the anniversary edition the first thing I recommend is to update your drivers and software via Windows Update and HP Support Assistant.

Let's begin with updating the Bios. Here is the link to download

You could always try using the HP Support AssistantHP PCs - Using HP Support Assistant (Windows 10, 8, 7) to see if there is any driver available that is not shown on the support page. It is not likely but there is always a chance the page was not yet updated.

Another possibility is to do some tweaking on your system just in case there is some other driver or software that is interfering with the audio, possibly causing some lag issues. You can try looking through these: HP PCs - Computer Is Slow (Windows 10)HP PCs - Slow Internet Troubleshooting (Windows 10, 😎.  They are never a waste of time as often there is something that could help overall system performance.

Please let me know whether that works for you, and if it does resolve your issue, please mark this post as a solution. Kudos would also be appreciated.

I can't believe it, updating the BIOS actually did work. All this effort and upset and all it took was a 5 minute update? Wow, do I feel silly. Thanks again! It's been working fine for the last 2 and a half hours. I'll make an update post on Monday discussing if it functioning well or not.

A bit early but I'll tell you what is up. Okay, like I said the BIOS update did work...but only for that one session. After turning it off and then on the next day, it reverted back. I did some playing around and I noticed that after I updated my BIOS driver. it worked like normal(audio wise specifically). Any reason why you think it'd do this? I don't mind doing this everyday since it takes around 5-10 minutes for the driver to update but I have heard that every once and a while it can become corrupt and make your computer unbootable. Earlier my computer froze while it was updating the driver, I had to wake an hour or two till the battery ran out.
