Microsoft Windows 11

My realtek driver on my hp pavillion gaming 15 always hidden on device manager. On properties there is:

'Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45)

To fix this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer.'
Previously I didnt have this problem. I installed realtek driver from HP driver support and says this drive not compatible with this OS.

How to solve this?

Hi @Lunov,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your PC!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Physical Connection: Although uncommon for audio devices integrated into laptops, ensure that there are no issues like disconnected hardware. It might be worthwhile to check for loose connections if any maintenance or upgrades were performed recently.

Uninstall and Reinstall the Driver:

  • Go to Device Manager, find the Realtek audio device under Sound, video, and game controllers.
  • Right-click and select Uninstall to remove the driver.
  • Restart your computer. Windows might reinstall the generic driver automatically, or you can download the latest Windows 11 supported driver from the HP Support - Software and Driver Downloads page for your specific model.

Check for Windows Updates: Ensure your Windows 11 has the latest updates installed, as sometimes these updates include driver fixes or compatibility improvements.

Compatibility Mode: If the HP website does not list a Windows 11 driver and suggests only Windows 10, install the Windows 10 driver in compatibility mode:

  • Download the driver executable from HP’s website.
  • Right-click on the installer file and select Properties.
  • Go to the Compatibility tab, check "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and select Windows 10.
  • Run the installer.

Use HP Support Assistant:

  • Open HP Support Assistant from your system, or download it from the HP website if you don't have it.
  • Use it to check for updates or reinstall drivers.

I hope this helps.
