The driver 14.9655.8130.105 Rev.Q https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp153001-153500/sp153044.exe is not installed from the manufacturer's website, unzipped, and then nothing happens. The driver offered by Microsoft WU works crookedly, the speakers are quiet. I'd be surprised if there were no driver issues, but the problem is that in early insider builds this driver was installed and worked fine. I also tried older drivers, nothing happens. I don't need to be taught how to install drivers, I am TELLING you about a PROBLEM that you have to fix. So far, I've installed the drivers manually, but that's not the way to go.

This applies to at least the following series HP ProBook 4X0 G7 EliteBook 8X0 G7.

Same here. We are using ProDesk 400 G5/6 series with the same problem.

Sound looks good (drivers installed) but no sound from any speaker.

HP! Please solve this!

This is not the latest driver. E.G. There are newer ones here, the HP Image Assistant (HPIA) can also be looked over.

Uninstall the sound card (Synaptics HD audio) from Windows device manager using the Uninstall Device menu, then restart the computer. The sound problem will be solved.
Note: Apart from this method, it is not possible to find a solution by updating the driver.

We have the same problem. ProDesk G6. With the new windows update > no sound. Everything seems to be in working order.

I tried uninstalling then rebooting the sound came back but only on the pc internal speaker not on the headphones, i assumed plugging in the headphones would give them audio and disable the internal speaker
