Hello. Right now I have the problem that my audio is either at 0% volume or 100% volume. It doesn't matter if I use the audio buttons to bring the volume up or down (from 2 to 100), the audio always blasts at 100% power. My laptop is up-to-date, the driver is up-to-date, the Windows audio problem seeker doesn't work and the HP PC hardware diagnostics doesn't work. Does anyone have an idea?

Please perform a clean install Audio software/driver, this should help.
(a) Download the following driver and save on your computer,
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp141001-141500/sp141454.exe
(b) Go to Device Manager, Sound to uninstall sound driver (Realtek) and reboot,
(c) Right click downloaded file and select Run as administrator,
(d) Reboot again.
Regards.

Hi Banhien, thank you for your help! I had to delete the old driver file in its entirety from my laptop, otherwise it wouldn't work. But the rest of your solution worked perfectly!

Restart your computer. In Windows, type find and fix audio into Search, or right-click the speaker icon on the taskbar and select Troubleshoot sound problems. Select Find and fix audio playback problems or Find and fix audio recording problems, and click Next.
