Is the BandO bass, vocal and treble bit above the equalizer meant to show only when using the speaker and not when using the audio jack, as this is what is happening when I use it for my laptop?

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

  • Did this happen after a recent window or software update?
  • Have you made any hardware/software changes?
  • Have you tried any troubleshooting steps?

I would recommend updating the audio drivers on your PC will fix Bang and Olufsen sound problem.
Here are the steps:

To check for updates now, select the Start button, and then go to Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update, and select Check for updates.

Install updates from HP Support Assistant: Go to Download HP Support Assistant to install the tool.

  1. To open the HP Support Assistant, double-click the HP Support Assistant icon https://support.hp.com/doc-images/932/c05040382.jpg.
  2. Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.
  3. Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.
  4. Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.
  5. Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.
  6. Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

My drivers are fully updated. I've seen previous questions on this forum regarding the same issue, but without any fixes.

After reading your post, I did go through the Using the Bang and Olufsen Audio App and found that this feature is not available for audio jack input.
Bang and Olufsen provide custom tuning for both built-in speakers and headphone jacks and includes user-selectable equalization presets and manual sound tuning.

Where does it say in the link you added that the B and O experience turns off when an external pair of earphones is plugged into the audio jack?

Thank you for posting back.

This feature is automatically turned on when you select the sound modes. As I've mentioned earlier this feature is not available for audio jack input.

Keep me posted for further assistance.

Ok! Thank you for your help!

As a follow up, would you know a way to enhance the Audio Experience on headphones? I have a set of Bose earphones. I specifically bought this laptop due to the BandO play, but the Bose sound muffled when connected to the Aux,  airpods sound more clear.

Any suggestions?

Thank you for posting back.

The audio quality depends on the sound card or the audio chip on your PC, it's best to try out Microsoft store app: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/b/home
the best option is to invest in a third-party audio booster like the Boom 3D. This volume booster and equalizer app not only increases the overall system volume but also bundles a handful of sound-related features.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
