I tried the suggestion of looking for the HP Audio or B&O control in Windows Startup apps, but it is not listed there.  How do I make it stop?  I steals the cursor when it opens - very annoying!

Hi @jtolen,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

If you're experiencing frequent pop-ups from the Bang & Olufsen audio control on your HP Notebook and it's not listed in the Windows Startup apps, you can try the following steps to stop the pop-up and regain control of your cursor:

Disable Bang & Olufsen Audio Control:

  1. Uninstall or Disable Bang & Olufsen Application:
    • Open the Control Panel on your computer.
    • Navigate to Programs > Programs and Features.
    • Look for any Bang & Olufsen or HP Audio-related software in the list.
    • Select the application and click Uninstall to remove it.
    • If you prefer not to uninstall, try disabling the application.

  2. Disable Bang & Olufsen from Sound Settings:
    • Right-click the Sound icon in the system tray and select Sounds.
    • Go to the Playback tab.
    • Select your playback device.
    • Click on Properties.
    • In the Enhancements tab, disable any enhancements that might be related to Bang & Olufsen.

  3. Disable in Task Manager:
    • Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
    • Go to the Processes tab.
    • Look for any processes related to Bang & Olufsen and end them.

  4. Check for Driver Updates:
    • Access Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu button.
    • Expand the Sound, video, and game controllers section.
    • Right-click on the sound driver and select Update driver.
    • Follow the prompts to check for updates that might resolve any conflicts.

  5. Adjust Notifications:
    • Go to Settings > System > Notifications & actions.
    • Disable notifications for the Bang & Olufsen application if applicable.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
