Thanks for posting this, will be downloading it tonight to see if I can restore my sanity. Just quick check, did you save the file and then go to the Conexant sound driver and hit update file or did you uninstall it first? Not sure if I need to do that in order to run this program.
thanks

Have any of you been having this frustrating problem with Conexant driver version 9.0.160.0 (August 2017)? I had been using an earlier version (9.0.140.1 Rev.C - May 2017) and just tried a driver update this morning through device manager and it updated to this newer one. Been using it all day today without any problems, but it's just one day. Sound even seems better but maybe that's just my imagination.
This has not yet been updated on the self service driver page for my device, but Windows installed it through the device manager auto update function.
Thanks,
-Dan

I bought my Envy 360 convertable from Walmart.com 3 months ago. Been having the same problem. Hours of time wasted with HP support and still no permanent fix. I wish I had returned this computer within the 90 days, but the time limit fell within the holidays and was not able to.

I am also having the same issue with my HP ENVY x360 laptop, where no matter what I am doing, sound keeps going off. As an interim solution, I have to either restart my laptop or disable/enable the conexant sound driver.
Do we have any permanent fix for this now ?
