Remove the Bang & Olufsen software through add/remove programs. Solved all my problems with the drivers on Windows 10 x64.

Speaker (Conexant ISST Audio) driver version 10.0.16299.15

And

Conexant ISST Audio  9.0.164.0

(Yes these two in the device manager)

HP ZBook 15u G4

What was the sound quality like after you remvoed the software.  I've been considering it, but the last time I put an old driver on, the sound was terrible.

Although the description for Softpaq 82074 indicates that this driver update is for various HP Probook G4 models and an HP Zbook mobile workstation, I installed it on my HP Envy x360 convertible, and I haven't lost my driver in over a week.  I was concerned that it might have adversely affected my Bang & Olufsen audio, but no, it hasn't.  Everything, including the sound quality is still there.  Thanks to Ourgangmn and Laura-01, I think I've stumbled on to the fix for my PC's disappearing audio driver.

Two weeks now without a single loss of my audio driver. So far, it's still working.

I installed the Softpaq and am holding my breath...  The November Windows update looked promising as well, but the problem eventually did resurfact :(.

I too have the same problem on 2 new HP Envy 13t laptops bought from Costco.  HP customer service has been absolutely worthless in trying to solve the problem.  No one I talked too had any knowledge of this issue.   Glad I found this email  chain.  Not clear from all the entries above there is a fix yet.  I considered loading a new driver and uninstalled the Conexant but had to restart the system to confirm deletion and that only reinstalled the same driver and returned the sound to normal.  But the issue isn't solved and will return.  HP is aware of the this issue, so why no patch?

The SoftPaq is still stable after a week...

Dowloaded the sp82074 patch.  Haven't had the sound disappear yet but have distinct and bothersome very audible clicks whenever a video appears.  I don't believe this patch is the answer.

Here are links to the software patches I installed nearly a month ago and so far I have not lost my audio driver one time during that period.

That's the patch I downloaded and installed today.  While I haven't lost audio yet, I get the distinct and annoying clicks noted above.
