HP ENVY x360 Laptop - 15-ed0047nr
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have the HP ENVY x360 Laptop - 15-ed0047nr and I was wondering if there's a build in microphone. The specs just state that the laptop comes with "HP Wide Vision HD camera with camera shutter and integrated dual array digital microphone[9]" and the subscript states "[9] Features may require software or other 3rd party applications to provide the described functionality. Internet service required and not included." I only bought the laptop a month ago and need to set it up for zoom calls but it says it can't find a microphone. When I check the sound setting, it states "no input devices could be found". So I was just wondering if there even is a built in microphone?

I don't know if this is helpful but when I plug in my headphones that have a microphone attached to it, the microphone works but the Mute Mic button (the f8 key) doesn't work.

By the way,,  I  managed to make it work.

Installed the last Windows 10 version (using the windows update assistant https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/help/3159635/windows-10-update-assistant)

And updating the AMD Radeon drivers to latest (which are not included in the pc out of the box..). https://www.amd.com/en/support

Hope this helps,

I am having the same problem. My new laptop is advising there is no microphone input, and yet it should have an internal mic. I need some help into resolving this, as when i have carried out an audio check, my laptop recognises theres a problem, but there is no guidance on how to solve it. Thank you

Thanks, BH! I tried your zoom suggestion, but the microphone still didn't work. At least I know there's supposed to be a microphone built in to my laptop.

Same problem here, only the microphone definitely was working for the first few days we had the laptop, then suddenly stopped and windows says that it's unplugged. Judging by the number of people on here saying they have no microphone it looks like it may be a very common hardware problem that the microphone physically becomes disconnected, or it's a bad batch of hardware perhaps?

Same issue here as well, no input devices plugged in.

This worked!  I had used my mic several times in zoom meetings, and it disappeared after a windows update.  Updated my AMD driver and now it works perfectly again.  Thanks!!
