I have just purchased the Multimedia speakers DHE-6001 and I was initially able to turn off the LED lights on my speakers by tapping the backlight control on the top of my speaker.

They now seem to be flashing in random patterns and will not turn off despite how many times I tap the top. There is no info in the instructions manual that explains what exactly I am changing.

Does anyone know how I’d be able to turn these lights off or at least leave them on and not flashing? Thanks!

HI @KimboE,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your DHE-6001 Multimedia Speakers are experiencing issues with their LED light control. Here’s how you can troubleshoot and try to fix the flashing LED lights:

1. Check the Manual Again

  • Revisit the Instructions:
    • Sometimes, important details might be missed. Recheck the manual for any sections related to LED light controls or patterns.

2. Reset the Speakers

  • Power Cycle:
    • Turn off the speakers and unplug them from the power source. Wait for about 30 seconds, then plug them back in and turn them on. This can sometimes reset the LED settings.
  • Factory Reset:
    • If available, perform a factory reset. Consult the manual or the HP website for instructions on how to reset your specific model.

3. Check Control Settings

  • Backlight Control:
    • Ensure you are tapping the correct button for controlling the LED lights. Sometimes, a longer press or a specific sequence of taps might be required to toggle through different settings.
  • Multiple Settings:
    • Some speakers have multiple settings for LED lights, such as "On," "Off," and "Flashing." Ensure you are selecting the desired setting.

4. Inspect for Defects

  • Physical Inspection:
    • Look for any visible defects or damage to the control buttons or the LED lights themselves. If there’s a defect, it might need professional repair or replacement.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
