Hi:

Here's what you need to do to get the HDMI audio to work...

Download and save, but do not run this W8.1 Intel graphics driver.

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp63501-64000/sp63750.exe

Download and install this free file utility.  The 2nd file is for 64 bit.

http://www.7-zip.org/

After you install 7-Zip, right click on the Intel graphics driver file you downloaded.

Select 7-Zip from the list of items.

Have 7-zip Extract to:  and let it extract the file into its folder name (sp63750).

After 7-zip creates the driver folder, go to the device manager and click on the High Definition Audio device with the ! mark.

Click on the driver tab, click on Update Driver.  Select the Browse my computer for driver software option, and browse to the driver folder 7-zip created.

Make sure the Include Subfolders box is checked and the Intel HDMI driver should install.

Then restart the PC, and you should have both video and audio playing from the HDMI out port.

Hi Paul

I actually registered to say thank you. After searching for hours to find a fix for this, I stumbled across this post.

This actually worked on my Acer, the very last thing that I had to fix.

Many thanks

Glad that fix worked for your Acer notebook.

My first PC ever was an Acer.
