I just installed older version of official driver (6.0.1.8067 Rev.A) and seems it's working correctly.

I've been pulling my hair out for MONTHS over this issue, and for a $1500 laptop it is absolutely ridiculous. My biggest regret has not been returning this laptop while I still had the chance... Regardless, I'm stuck with it now.
All drivers are up to date including BIOS. I have restarted several times after installing each of these drivers.
HP's realtek driver: absolutely terrible audio quality
Stock realtek driver (also the one window's update installs): "Crashes" every time I try to play audio. I can pull up spotify, youtube, or any other audio source and the sound icon in the taskbar will flip rapidly between normal and no driver installed.
Intel High Definition Audio driver: Sounds AMAZING until the laptop goes to sleep. After waking up, there is an obnoxious crackle in the left headphone only while audio is present. I have tested several headphones and all exhibit the issue. The only fix is restarting the device.
I have run out of solutions and none of the forums go further than what I've tried. I haven't been able to find the (6.0.1.8067 Rev.A) driver that was the final solution on this forum.

Hah, I know how do you feel. I found it at HP Support page, you have to unroll all drivers, even that olders.
But I saved it to my Google Drive, so here you go: https://drive.google.com/file/d/18wqPi5mPQ4g81ogQ1MbKnUKTUQFJJc-F/view?usp=drivesdk

If the option for high definition audio device is not available, uncheck the compatable hardware box, scroll to Microsoft, and you will find the driver there. Don't worry about the warning message the driver works fine.

I found a fix:
- Click the windows start button and type "Device Manager" and open it
- Scroll down to "System Devices"
- Disable "Intel (R) Smart Sound Technology (Intel (R) SST) OED"
Try it and see if it works. It worked on my HP Envy x360 aq-105dx from early 2017.

hi all,
I was also not satisfied with the sound quality of the B&O. I found this update (don't remember where) [edit] and installed it and my sound quality was restored to what I wanted. I now have full Bass and not the teeny echo sound like I used to have. Wish I could remember where I got it.
