Hey I tried that BIOS update and it didn't work, I restarted and shut down a couple of times and my brightness still isn't changing by the buttons or the slider.
😕

Ok. Thanks for trying it though!

Which graphics driver version do you have? You can find that in

Device Manager > Display Adapters > AMD/ATI Radeon Properties > Driver Tab > Driver Version number

I have a AMD Radeon HD 7800M series and the driver version is 9.2.0.0
Thanks

it worked for me after a reboot! thanks!!!

@NathanKarolz Hmm. Try uninstalling 9.2.0.0. Don't restart. Then install 8.951.9.1000

1. In the Radeon Properties in Device Manager, on the Driver tab, click the Uninstall button.

2. It will ask you to Restart the computer but don't. Click Restart Later.

3. Install version 8.951.9.1000. After it has installed, you can restart.

Sometimes versions directly from AMD's website won't fit exactly with the hardware on your computer, causing little glitches like this. Let me know how 8.951.9.1000 works for you 🙂

I'm using Win8 x64 and get the following error trying to install the  HP Quick Launch Software:

cscript.exe Entry Point Not Found

The procedure entry point SfmDxBindSwapChain could not be located in the dynamic link library

C:\Windows\System32\dwmapi.dll.

Windows is installed on my D:\ drive not my C:\ drive. It appears that whoever coded this was too lazy to have the script properly check where the Windows directory is and just hard coded it to use C:\Windows.

Any plans to either fix this or is there another work around? (Other than reinstalling Windows on the C:\ drive)

Hey Shockwave44,

Have you tried uninstalling HP Support Assistant from the C:\ and reinstalling it on the D:\?
