HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop - 16-a0030nr
Microsoft Windows 11

This week the internal microphone stopped working on my laptop.  I still can hear sound through the speakers but there is no microphone recognized.  If I plug in a headset, I can use that.

in the recording tab, there you should have Stereo Mix as a default, but that is not a microphone.

Hi @Geena13

go to the device manager, then click on Sound, video and game controllers, uninstall the Realtek driver, it will ask if you want to remove the software, check the box, accept and then restart the device, then install the next sound driver.

I did that but it still shows no input devices found unless I plug in a headset.

Enter the Device Manager and see if you have unrecognized drivers.
