@Denisdsbr Is the button physically stuck? or is it that the LED on the button is always on?

If its the LED that's always on while the key itself isn't physically damaged, please try the below steps:

If not done, already - Please reinstall the Audio drivers to fix this issue? update it using the HP website?

While you respond to that, I recommend you follow the below steps:

  1. Click Start, type "Device Manager," and press Enter.
  2. Expand the "Sound, video, and game controllers" section.
  3. Right-Click on your soundcard and select "Uninstall", followed by "Delete the driver",
  4. Reboot your notebook and then install the driver using the HP Recovery manager: Click here for instructions.

If the reinstallation from HP Website doesn't work, try the above steps.

P.S: Welcome to HP Forums! 😉

Let me know how that pans out,

Hi, thanks for your response.

Unfortunately the steps could not be performed, because HP Recovery Manager is not available as an application in my X360.

It originally came with windows 8, and for what I could read in the instructions page from the link you provided : "This document pertains to HP and Compaq PCs that came with Windows 10 installed."

The notebook was automatically updated to windows 10 2 or 3 years ago and never had this audio problem.

And yes, once I touch the keyboard and the system is automatically muted, the light on F6 key is always on.

I can make a video showing how it happens if needed.

Any other instructions I could try?

thank you very much!

ps. sorry about the delay but notifications from HP were placed in the spam folder.

I suggest you download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: https://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html?jumpid=va_r602_us/en/any/psg/p...

HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers for your Notebook

  1. Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.

Click Updates in the My notebook pane

  2. Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.

Updates list in HP Support Center

  3. Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.

  4. Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.

  5. Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

Also, ensure Windows is up to date.

Select the Start button, and then go to Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update, and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available

Keep me posted, how it goes!

I know that it has been a while, I was travelling abroad, and now I finally could try the solution suggested installing and running the HP Support Assistance,

I went to the sound diagnose and problem solving, it checked, re-enabled the driver but the problem just popped immediately.

I Uninstalled all sound drivers and installed again, the sound works after a restart. But with any first keystroke on the keyboard the sound volume drops to zero, the volume level indicator keeps showing above all applications on the upper left side, every time I bring the volume level with the mouse bigger than zero it returns to zero automatically. The volume indicator at zero with a x (mute) only disappear after disabling the sound driver...

If after a restart I never use the keyboard, only the mouse and on screen keyboard, the sound keeps working normally.

I can make a video to show this weird behavior if needed.

So if anybody has more ideas for the solution I will thank you a lot,

Denis DS
