HP Pavillion audio keyboard keys and task bar audio slider does not control sound volume. I cannot control the volume output. I have troubleshooted problem and system finds no issues. I have run HP diagnostics for audio and no issues have been found. I do have sound output but can only control volume when using the 'apps' built in volume control e.g. ITunes, You Tube, Sky, Sportify etc.
Note
I have checked Drivers and all up to date.
Other keyboard operations e.g. Brightness, typing etc all functioning correctly
Not sure but problem came about when Realtek update to 6.0.9366.1 applied. My other laptop which I have not updated work fine.

Welcome to the HP support community.
I understand that you are getting issues with the audio keys, I am glad to assist you.
Update the Bios, chipset, and drivers using HP Support Assistant.
Download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: Click here
- HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers for your Notebook
- Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.
- Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.
- Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.
- Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.
- Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.
Also, ensure Windows is up to date.
- Select the Start button, and then go to Settings > Update & security > Windows Update , and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available
Let me know how it goes.
To thank me for my efforts to help you, please mark my post as an accepted solution so that it benefits several others.
Cheers.

Thank you for your reply all drivers are up to date and there are no outstanding updates. Still have the same issue. Audio slide bar and keyboard work when headphones are plugged in but not when headphones removed

Hello I have an HP pavillion eh1500hd which my wife uses extensively for meetings. She noticed recenlty that the main audio control in the tray is not controlling the colume. It works with the control in the app, such as a slider in the youtube app. It also works with earphones plugged in. I have followed through all the workarounds that are posted. Not sure what I need to do. Appreciate any help.
