Microsoft Windows 11

My Realtek(R) audio driver keeps uninstalling itself, and my laptop replaces it with the generic High Definition Audio Device, which tends to cut out randomly. My laptop runs Windows 11 25H2. I want to have my Realtek(R) audio driver run on this computer.

May be windows replacing it. Try this:

  1. Press Win + R, type:
  2. sysdm.cpl → Enter.
  3. Go to the Hardware tab → Device Installation Settings.
  4. Choose: “No (your device might not work as expected)” → Save Changes.
  5. This tells Windows not to auto‑download drivers from Microsoft, so your HP Realtek driver should stay in place.

Now instalment your audio driver and check

How do I install the audio driver? Thanks

I think my computer isn't recognizing the Realtek driver as "digitally signed." It just won't install the driver.

Download and install audio driver from hp driver page of your laptop.
