Gaming Pavilion 15-dk0029nq

I recently buyed an Gaming Pavilion 15-dk0029nq and installed Windows 10 as the OS.

 

It appears there is an issue with the headphones as at random times it gives a "blip" sound, and no audio can be heard from a source, like a video for example, for 1-2 seconds. Also if no audio is played for a few minutes it will give off the same effect, one or two "blips" and no sound for a few seconds.

 

I tried to troubleshoot it, but the troubleshooter did not detect anything.

I understand that you are facing the issue with headphone audio.

 

  • Please let me know which brand headset you are using.
  • Have you tried this headphone with a different computer?
  • Is the audio is fine with the laptop internal speaker?

 

If they work on the alternate device, check if the Headphones are enabled as a playback device. 

To do this, please see the steps below: 

  • Click the Start Pearl and then type Sound in the Start Search Box. 

  • Select Change Sound Card Settings in the Start Menu Options. 

  • Next, under the Playback tab, right-click and select Show Hidden Devices and Show Disconnected    Devices if available. 

  • Select Headphones and enable 

To Increase the volume on your headphone: 
 

Method 1 

  • Right-click the volume icon in the notification area. 

  • Click the Open Volume Mixer and increase the volume for Headphones. 
     

Method 2 

  • Right-click the volume icon in the notification area. 

  • Go to Playback devices and right-click Headphones under Playback. 

  • Go to Properties and set the volume to the maximum under Levels tab. 

  • Click Apply and OK. 

Please update the audio drivers and BIOS and then check for the issue.

I have since solved the issue. Apparently it was caused by the Realtek audio drivers. I installed a generic MIcrosoft driver and it got rid of the audio delay. The "bleeps" i'm not sure. Soon after i reported the issued they dissappeared, the audio delay persisted, and then came back again a couple of times after changing the drivers. I think this one is actually caused by the headphones, but it hasn't happened in a while now.

 

There is a thread explaining the issue with the Realtek audio delay but i don't have the link.
