HI Guys,

I still haven't found the fix as yet so PLEASE forgive me so looking so slowly. I'm just going to run through some random settings I have and hopefully thats it. ALSO, I did redownload my sound driver from HP as for some reason it crashed one day and wouldn't play music on my computer, only from the internet so if anyone wants, they can redownload the sound driver and try. Now I have been looking at other websites and they did mention that this beeping was recorded in the event viewer but as I don't have the beep and I reinstalled the driver (March 6th), that data was lost.

My settings for speaker/ HP (right click the volume, click sounds,  click Speakers/ HP and then properties (which should be the default device)) have mono mix enabled & my speakers set at 10, tone controls: bass &treble at 4, advanced, I have both check boxes checked. The other option, Digital Display Audio says not plugged in so we won't bother with that.

UPDATE: Has anyone tried these beep settings? http://www.thewindowsclub.com/disable-system-beep-windows-7-8
(The registry editor one) If possible, can someone try it and see if that's the trick. It seems to have been the trick for Windows 7 people

hey Jamal, thanks again for trying to help!

Testing two of the three solutions on there.. Will let you guys know.. But I'm pretty sure the Control Panel solution isn't right.. Since I tested the "Windows Beep" sound that you can turn off and it's not the same beep sound at all...

Hopefuly the Registery solution might work.. Battery is draining! Will let you guys know...

UPDATE: Nope.. Those two solutions didn't work either..

@miguel

I have already forwarded this to an engineer. They are researching the issue. I know that it is a frustrating issue and I really wish there was more I could do personally, but rest assured the issue has reached that level and as soon as there is more news on the topic, the thread will be updated.

Thanks!

Same problem as everyone else. Cannot get rid of annoying system beep when battery gets down to 12%. Why anyone ever thought that it would be a good idea for the laptop to start loudly beeping every 30 seconds when you still have 25 minutes or more of battery life left is beyond me.

Annoying to the point that I will never buy another HP if they can't get this resolved. If you ask me, it's pretty dumb to simplify the bios so much that you can't even get in and disable the system speaker. I bought the laptop, so I should be able to change any setting I please.

Have tried all suggestions posted on the message board. Will keep monitoring this post for a fix....
