Hi everyone!

I also had the low power beep sound BUT now it does not come on anymore! (So there is a way to turn it off!) I believe this was the option that I pressed to turn it off. I'm not 100% sure how I was able to turn it off.

Its in the HP beats audio setting, go to advanced settings & under power, I pressed the button and now it says disable (so that particular setting is now enabled.)

Attached is an image,I hope thats the setting!

Thank you everyone for providing your product numbers and other information! I really appreciate you taking the time to register and post!

It looks like there are 2 product numbers affected: C2L91UA and C2L94UA. A new BIOS version was released on 3/15/2013. I would like to suggest updating to that BIOS version by downloading it and installing it from the link below.

BIOS version F.32 (sp61006)

Your notebook will restart on its own during the installation process. Allow it to restart and once it gets to the Windows Start screen, use your computer as you normally would and let me know if you are still experiencing the low battery beep.

Thank you for your continued patience and understanding. I am working diligently to resolve this frustrating issue for you. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to let me know. I will keep a look out for replies 🙂

Trying AxshunJaxun's solution.. Got my computer on high performance to drain the battery.. Will let everyone know if it works or not...

Tried the Beat's audio solution by Jamal.. It did help disminish it and almost mute it.. But beep is still there...

Hope we've finally found a solution!.

Update: So.. Nope.. Bios Update Not working.. Still beeping.. And Jamal's solution brings the beep down but if you play any music or video it brings it right back up....... Please HP.. FIX THIS!!

I'm currently looking through my settings to see what I did. I can't remember exactly but I'm trying to retrace my steps. I just updated my BIOS and the sound is still off, even with music on, so there is a way to turn it off! I'm just trying to remember it however, I will update this post if I do find the solution!

ALSO, I DID Not interfere with my BIOS settings, it's a setting within the PC that I touched to turn it off

Updated BIOS didn't do it for me either - nor did Jamal's suggestion. Like the last BIOS update, I was able to run my battery down to 7% with no beeps after the first restart; however (again, like the last BIOS update), I turn the computer off, turn it on the next day, and drain the battery, the beep is back. Muting the speakers and the mono mix keep it quiet (which is still confusing to me becuase disabling the device doesn't even keep it quiet), but nothing else so far that I can figure out...

Thanks for the feedback ctownley!

So you said muting the speakers and mono mix will keep it quiet. Does that mean, you can still hear the beep but it isn't as annoyingly loud? or you can't hear the beep at all?

And in either case, you still can't hear any music because those settings are muted right?

@ Jamal_

Thanks very much for your input and feedback as well! It is something I've been mulling over: whether there is an option in one of these BIOS versions, within the BIOS interface, that allows you to enable/disable the PC Beep and/or Low Battery Beep. So I'm glad you said that you didn't make any changes in the BIOS.

Could it be that you made any changes in Advanced Power Settings?

Or maybe Sound settings?or Windows sounds?

We've already discussed changes in both of these sections here on the thread but maybe this will help jog your memory? Thanks a ton for your input 🙂
