Pavilion dv6-6140 Windows 7

I want to turn off the internal mic totally for short periods and then enable it again.  Tried to use cam and click on the mic disable in the program - but I was told by the class host they could still hear my key clicks when I typed and back ground sounds.

I want to shut the mic down totally so no sounds can be heard for a period of time then turn it back on.  Please help.

Hi,

Try the following.

Right click the speaker icon in the Taskbar and select 'Playback devices'.  In the following window, click the Recording tab, left click the Integrated Microphone Array once just to highlight it and then right click it and select Disable.

When you wish to have it working again, just follow the above procedure and choose Enable from the right click options.

Hi

I know this is an old post, but someone else may find it useful, in the same place where you disabled it, right-click the empty space, and check the option saying show disabled devices.

Cheers
