Thank you for responding,
It's great to have you back 😉
To help you understand the reason we keep asking to reinstall the drivers is because the pre-installed software AKA the DTS Studio isn't working as it should be, and in order to repair the same, we will have to start with re-installing it and the only way to reinstall it, is to remove and install the audio drivers as mentioned since the beginning of our conversation.
If you aren't comfortable doing the same, I recommend using the windows equalizer or install a 3rd party equalizer to make changes or enhancements such as "Music, Voice, Movie, etc."
How to change or setup your sound equalizer on windows 10: Click here to watch the video on YouTube.

(The above link is 3rd party and is not owned by HP, I've posted this only so that I may help you resolve this issue by going beyond by support boundaries, please ignore the ads and take only the free suggestions)

give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,
that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!
Good Luck.

Hello - I hope you are still there. In the last few weeks I have been trying various things.
I found Windows Equalizer on my Notebook & its Equalizer slider bar.
I tried three 3rd party Equalizers.
I learned that using an Equalizer is supposed to be easy. Play a sound - iTunes song, radio Podcast, news channel video, or Netflix movie - open the Equalizer & adjust the sliders to improve the sound.
I find that with every Equalizer I try when I move the sliders I get no reaction at all.
Also when I check 'Update Drivers' in Device Manager I consistently get the message 'the best driver software for your device is already installed' & 'the device software for your device is up to date'.
Now, since none of the Equalizers work I have to conclude that there is nothing wrong with DTS Sound per se.
There has to be a more fundamental problem somewhere.
Any more thoughts?
