Spectre X360
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have had my Spectre X360 for 18 months.  In that time I have had persistent issues connecting various bluetooth audio devices, Sony, Beats and Bose.  I have updated drivers and scanned the internet for solutions.  Sometimes I can connect a device for a time but after a while it disconnects and I have to troubleshoot and restart my laptop.  Sometimes that works and sometimes it doesn't.  Ive just received Sony WF-1000XM3 wireless earbuds for Christmas and it appears totally impossible to connect them. It tooks seconds to connect them to my Apple iPhone, but as usual with Hp Spectre it has already consumed a couple of hours of my time and I still haven't had any success.  All device drivers have been updated and Ive followed all the usual Bluetooth connection instructions.  It should not be this hard!  This was a very expensive laptop.  What are you doing to fix these issues Hp????

Hi@che1972, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I understand you have Bluetooth issues with your PC.

Don't worry I'd like to help you out.

Did you make any software or hardware changes on your PC?

You did a fabulous job by trying the steps before reaching out to us.

Install the latest Bluetooth driver using the HP support assistant.

Refer to this article to know more information about using the HP support assistant.

Update the BIOS on your PC using this link.

Please try the steps recommended below.

Step 1. Go to device manager
Step 2. Right click on "Bluetooth Peripheral Device" that you want
Step 3. Select "Update Driver Software..."
Step 4. Choose "Browse my computer for driver software"
Step 5. Choose "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer"
Step 6. Select "Ports (COM & LPT)"
Step 7. Select "Microsoft" at the "Manufacturer" list
Step 8. Finally, select "Standard Serial over Bluetooth link"

a)   Open Control Panel by clicking the Start button, and then clicking Control Panel.
b)   In the Control Panel search box, type Bluetooth, and then click Change Bluetooth settings.
c)   In the Bluetooth Settings dialog box, click the Options tab and do any of the following:
d)   To make your computer discoverable to Bluetooth devices, select the check box for Allow Bluetooth devices to find this computer.
e)   When a Bluetooth enabled computer is in discovery mode, it broadcasts a wireless signal that allows it to be detected by other Bluetooth enabled computers or devices. This is sometimes called the pairing mode.
f)   To allow Bluetooth devices to connect to your computer, select the check box for Allow Bluetooth devices to connect to this computer.
To be notified when a Bluetooth device is trying to connect to your computer, select the check box for Alert me when a new Bluetooth device wants to connect.

Also, try the steps recommended below.

Press Win + R,” type services.msc and then press the Enter key on your keyboard.

find the service “Bluetooth Support Service” and see it if is running.

If the service is not running, right-click on it and then select the “Start” option.

If you want to, you can also make the service start automatically at every Windows startup. To do that, right-click on the service and then select the “Properties” option.

In the Properties window select the option “Automatic” from the Startup Type drop-down menu, and then click on the “OK” button to save the changes.

Refer this article to further troubleshoot Bluetooth issues with your laptop.
