You're very welcome.
Do you know what model processor and graphics your notebook has?
You probably need to install a compatible graphics driver which I may be able to help you with after you provide that info.

Hi:
See if this Vista driver works.
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp34501-35000/sp34716.exe
You will probably need to manually install the driver like you did for the audio driver.
Download and run the driver. You will probably get an unsupported operating system error.
Close out of any error windows.
Go to the device manager. Click on the video controller needing the driver. It may be listed under the Display adapters device manager category as a standard vga adapter.
Click on the driver tab. Click on Update driver.
Select the Browse my computer for driver software option and browse to the driver folder that was created when you ran the file. The folder will be located in C:\SWSetup\sp34716.
Make sure the Include subfolders box is checked and hopefully the driver will install.
Then restart the PC and the graphics should be working normally.
Here is a partial copy and paste of the driver setup information file that shows driver support for that model GPU...

Yes, use the graphics driver I gave you and manually install the driver from the Standard VGA Adapter.
You need to see the ATI RADEON XPRESS 200M SERIES graphics adapter there or the graphics acceleration will be disabled.
