@Hemanth77,Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with your laptop's audio and microphone. If you are using a headset, particularly one from Poly like the Voyager Focus 2 UC series, here's some guidance to help resolve these issues:

Troubleshooting Audio Issues

Check Connections:

  • Ensure your headset is properly connected to your laptop, either via Bluetooth or with a USB connection.

Volume Settings:

  • Make sure that the volume on both your laptop and your headset is turned up. Sometimes, sound might be muted on either the device or application level.

Audio Settings:

  • Go to your laptop's sound settings and make sure the correct output device (your headset) is selected as the default.

Configure USB Adapter:

  • If you are using a USB Bluetooth adapter, ensure it's properly connected and configured for media streaming. For Windows, go to Control Panel > Sound > Playback, and set your adapter (e.g., Poly BT700) as the Default Device.

Microphone Issues

Check the Microphone Boom:

  • Ensure that the microphone boom is pointed towards your mouth. The Poly headsets usually require the mic boom to be positioned correctly to capture sound effectively.

Settings:

  • Check the sound settings to ensure your headset is set as the default input device. This can usually be altered in the sound settings panel by selecting the correct microphone device.

Update Firmware:

  • Keeping the firmware up-to-date can be crucial. Use the Poly Lens App to ensure your device's firmware is current. Download it here.

Softphone Volume:

  • If you’re using a softphone, ensure the volume settings for the microphone are appropriately set, and the correct device is selected.

Mute Button:

  • Make sure the mute button on your headset is not activated. If it’s activated, deactivate it by pressing the mute/unmute button.
