Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My microphone does not seem to work.  I see it listed as a device, I see it is enabled.  It also doesn't work in Cortana.  I've checked privacy permissions and can't figure it out. 

I've gone to control panel/sound/recording tab and selected my device but when I speak, there is no activity on the green bars.  Any ideas?

I see that you are facing microphone-related issues on your system. Do not worry we are here to help you fix it.

 

May I know from when are you facing this issue?

May I know if you have made any recent hardware or software related changes to your system?

May I know what happens when you use an external microphone on your system?

May I know what happens when you use an application such as zoom or Google meet on your system?

I have an internal microphone problem.  When I am on a zoom call 

the members of the meeting cannot hear me.  Microphone is not on

mute.  Members of the meeting can hear each other.  On occasion

I am heard but after abut 30 seconds the microphone is gone.

Sorry for not getting back to you. I actually don't get on the computer all too often.

 

To answer your questions:

 

1. I have not made any software or hardware changes. The only software updates that are done is when I'm prompted that updates are available.

 

2. I have not tried an external microphone.  I don't own one.

 

3. I tried to do a zoom test meeting and my voice is garbled and distorted. Also, when I try to use Cortana, it does not work.
