Hi
I have an hp h120 headset and when i plug in an adapter to use the headphone's mic with PS4 it inverts the sound. I have tried different adapters but all of them seem to have the same problem. Is there a fix?

Hi @Shikaka20,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP H120 headset is experiencing sound inversion issues when using an adapter with your PS4, here are some steps you can try to resolve the problem.
Check Adapter Compatibility: Ensure that the adapter you're using is specifically designed for connecting a headset with a microphone to the PS4. Some adapters are not fully compatible and may cause issues like sound inversion.
Update PS4 Firmware: Make sure your PS4 is running the latest firmware. Sometimes firmware updates can resolve compatibility issues with peripherals.
Adjust Audio Settings on PS4:
- Go to Settings > Devices > Audio Devices.
- Select Output Device and choose Headset Connected to Controller.
- Adjust the Output to Headphones setting to All Audio.
- You can also try setting Volume Control (Headphones) to a different level to see if it affects the inversion.
Test with Another Device: Plug the headset into another device using the same adapter to see if the issue persists. This will help determine if the problem is with the headset, the adapter, or the PS4.
Check Headset and Adapter for Damage: Inspect both the headset and the adapter for any visible damage. Sometimes, physical damage can lead to connectivity issues.
Use a Different Adapter: If possible, try using a different type of adapter designed for gaming headsets to see if it resolves the issue. Some adapters are designed with specific wiring configurations that might solve the problem.
Reset PS4: As a last resort, you can try restarting or resetting your PS4 to see if it clears up any software-related issues.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Thanks Alden, but something I didn't quite mention is that audio inversion happens only when the adapter is plugged in and in every device I use the headset with. I have used different adapters but they all have had the same problem. Judging from this it's probably an issue with the headset itself or maybe the adapters as you mentioned.
I thank you for helping and hope this also helps others.
