Thank you for explaining the issue so clearly. It’s genuinely disruptive when your laptop speakers produce buzzing or background noise—especially during audio or video playback. Let’s walk through a focused recovery path to help restore clean sound on your HP 15-fd0000 laptop.
1. Run the built-in audio troubleshooter
Press Windows + I to open Settings.
Go to System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.
Run the Playing Audio troubleshooter and follow the prompts.
2. Update or reinstall the audio driver
Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
Expand Sound, video and game controllers.
Right-click your audio device (Realtek, Intel Smart Sound, or similar) and choose Update driver.
If no update is found, choose Uninstall device instead.
Restart the laptop—Windows will automatically reinstall the driver.

3. Adjust sound settings
Right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar and select Sound settings.
Under Output, select your laptop speakers, then click Device properties.
Choose Additional device properties → open the Advanced tab.
Change the default format (e.g., from 24-bit to 16-bit, 44100 Hz) and test again.
Also disable audio enhancements under the Enhancements tab, as these can sometimes cause buzzing.
4. Test with headphones
Plug in headphones or external speakers.
If the buzzing is only on the laptop speakers, the issue may be hardware.
If the buzzing is present even in headphones, the problem is driver/software related.
5. Run HP Hardware Diagnostics
To confirm if the speakers themselves are faulty:
Restart your laptop and press Esc repeatedly until the Startup Menu opens.
Press F2 to open HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI.
Run the Audio Test under Component Tests.
