I had the same problem but since driver updates this April (2019) no longer seem to have the problem.

I had the same problem but noise seems gone when plugged in ever since I received new driver updates this April (2019).

Did this common issue ever get resolved by HP?  I suspect that it is a grounding issue or a power supply going bad.

Changing or updating the drivers hasn't worked, but thanks anyway.

I will have to check into the grounding issue. It sounds logical. Thank you!
