Hi @lotto0311
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
It seems like your HP OMEN Transcend 14 is having trouble recognizing its built-in speakers.
Here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
1. Check Audio Output Settings
- Right-click the Sound Icon in the taskbar and select Open Sound Settings.
- Under Output, ensure the built-in speakers are selected as the default device. If they don’t appear, proceed to the next step.
2. Update Audio Drivers
- Open Device Manager (press Windows + X and select Device Manager).
- Expand Sound, Video, and Game Controllers.
- Right-click your audio device (e.g., Realtek or Intel) and select Update Driver.
- If no updates are found, visit the HP Support website to download the latest audio drivers for your laptop.
3. Run the Audio Troubleshooter
- Go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other Troubleshooters.
- Run the Playing Audio Troubleshooter and follow the on-screen instructions.
4. Check BIOS Settings
- Restart your laptop and press F10 repeatedly to enter the BIOS setup menu.
- Look for audio-related settings and ensure the built-in speakers are enabled.
- Save changes and exit the BIOS.
5. Reset Audio Services
- Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
- Locate Windows Audio and Windows Audio Endpoint Builder in the list.
- Right-click each service, select Restart, and test the audio again.
6. Perform a System Restore
- If the issue started recently, use System Restore to revert your laptop to a point when the speakers were working:
- Go to Control Panel > Recovery > Open System Restore.
- Follow the prompts to select a restore point.
If this solution hits the spot, please come back and click "Accepted Solution" to help others find the answer. And if you'd like to say thanks, select "Yes" on the bottom left of the public post, as that would make our day! 😊
Take care, and have an amazing day!

You've already covered a solid range of troubleshooting steps, so let's explore a few advanced solutions that might help resolve the issue:
1. Check Hidden Devices in Device Manager
- Open Device Manager (Win + X → Device Manager).
- Click View → Show Hidden Devices.
- Expand Sound, Video, and Game Controllers.
- If your built-in speakers appear, right-click and select Enable.
2. Manually Install Audio Drivers
- If updating drivers didn’t work, try manually installing them:
- Visit your laptop manufacturer’s support page.
- Download the latest Realtek or Intel HD Audio driver.
- Install it and restart your laptop.
3. Disable Audio Enhancements
- Open Control Panel → Sound.
- Select your default playback device and click Properties.
- Go to the Enhancements tab and check Disable all enhancements.
- Click Apply and restart your laptop.
4. Try External Speakers or Headphones
- Plug in external speakers or headphones to see if sound works.
- If external audio works but built-in speakers don’t, it could be a hardware issue.
If none of these steps work, let me know, and I can help troubleshoot further!
I know sound issues can be frustrating, but we’ll get this sorted.
Thanks,
