Hello, I have had my laptop for over a year and a half now and I have never had any issues with the audio until now. I'd say maybe two days ago, I had closed my laptop over whilst I went to do something and when I came back, it appeared to have restarted as if it had installed an update as evidenced by the "bong-bing" noise playing and the screen showing the HP logo before loading onto my home screen with the previously opened tabs being closed. I went to watch a YouTube video later and found that the volume was far too loud, so I pressed the 'f6' key to turn it down, only to find that it was only at 4% volume. I turned the volume completely down and adjusted the audio slider on the YouTube video so that it was barely playing and it sounded normal once I put my device audio back up (normal being, I would have my device audio on 30 and the YouTube slider at full previously and it would sound as loud as it does on 2% device audio and a tiny bit on the YouTube slider now). I restarted my laptop a few times hoping it would fix it but it still hasn't. I'm not tech-savvy by any means but I muddled though the various troubleshooting options on the HP Support Assistant app before continuing to muddle through the support options on the HP Support Website's Online Chat (not with a person). None of the solutions made any difference and from a brief glance, it doesn't seem like this issue is well documented. I apologize for the length of my ramblings but I'd truly appreciate any help or assistance that could be offered.

Hi @Ub6424, thank you so, so much for your reply, I really appreciate it!
Here are the system configuration details you requested:
OS Name: Microsoft Windows 11 Home |
Version: 10.0.22621 |
System Model: HP Pavilion Laptop 15-eh0xxx |
System SKU: 31Y94EA#ABU |
Processor: AMD Ryzen 3 4300U with Radeon Graphics, 2700 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s) |
BIOS Version/Date: AMI F.17, 08/12/2021 |
BaseBoard Product: 87C5 |
BaseBoard Version: 35.50 |
As for the screenshot of the device manager, there did not appear to be an "Other Devices" option for me but I opened all of the other requested drop down menus. (It was too big to fit on one screen so I took two screenshots, "Print Queues" is where the first screenshot ends and the second starts).

Hello, thank you very much for your continued assistance, it's greatly appreciated!
I managed to follow step one however both step two and five would not work for me. I was able to install the linked file in both cases, however upon opening the downloads and then opening the file which the download created, nothing happened. I assumed it would take a while so I waited an hour in both cases and nothing happened, I even redid these steps and the result stayed the same.

Hello, thanks again for all of your help, i gave that a try and it did not work. I retried it and it did disconnect it as an output device (which made me panic a bit because there was no sound) but i managed to reconnect it, the volume problem didn't resolve however, unfortunately.
