I have uninstalled and reinstalled clean drivers, ran system test (it detects no issue), I have tried using a different microphone and updated my laptop to  no avail.

My laptop is around 8 months old.  Just in the last few weeks of using my laptop for online classes have I ran into this issue.  I can't use my microphone at all because there is a loud static noise, not just when I am talking.  Please help me!

Click Start->'Control Panel -> Sound -> Playback ->Select the entry that has Green Checj Over, click Properties. Click Advanced Tab above, unclick 'Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device',  click Apply/Ok.

1) Click Start=>Control Panel.
2. Double-Click on the ‘Sound’ Icon
