My microphone will not work when trying to partake in meetings on platforms such as Teams, Zoom, skype etc. when completing all diagnostics and troubleshooting it states there are no problems with the microphone. Any advice?

If the microphone works for testing and diagnostics,

If you have not done so,

Check Settings > Privacy > MIcrophone

What else?

The problem, if there is one, is that the computer only really has control over the devices to the extent that it knows (hopefully) whether the device works and responds to testing and diagnostics.

What?

The issue might be permissions or it might be the way the "teams" software is interpreting the way in which the microphone should be used in that "teams" software.

If you are using a headset when connecting to Zoom,

If that headset includes its own microphone,

The Zoom software might be trying to use the built-in microphone in the headset.

Right-Click the Sound icon in your Taskbar > Open Sound Settings

Open Sound Control Panel (right side of window)

Tab Recording

Check / Adjust the settings for the Microphone setup / default

Click Apply / OK to save and exit
