Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

For some reason my microphones don't seem to capture sound.

I checked the device manager:

- the drivers are correct and updated
- microphone is enabled in device manager

in the sound conficuration of windows 10 i checked

- the level of the mic is set up to 100%

I also tried the troubleshoot-option in windows 10 but nothing came out...

Everything seems to be working fine, but there is no sound coming in.

i already tried all the differen mics (also headset - no usb headset but with 3.5mm jack), but nothing seems to work.

the levels in next to the the audio-interface stay down...

I have the same problem with my HP ENVY x360! There are SOOO many threads here with the same problem, but none of the solutions work! Someone in a different thread threatened to contact the previous CEO and got a quick response from HP customer service that they would contact the person through a private message to get them the help they needed. See here:

Privately messaging people who have the same problem does not help the rest of us! If this truly is a harware issue that EVERYBODY seems to be having, HP has some SERIOUS quality control issues and should issue a recall. But it's unlikely to be hardware issue. It's far more likely that HP is simply avoiding the cost of fixing a bit of faulty code. The microphone responds to direct tapping. It will also pick up angry screams if I hold the very top edge of my screen inside my mouth. But it responds to nothing else.

I have followed all instructions at https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c03421813. I have checked the hardware (as best I can, since this is the INTERNAL MICROPHONE I'm talking about). I have uninstalled and reinstalled all the audio drivers. I have messed with all the levels, including the Bang & Olufsen options. I have run the troubleshooter. NOTHING WORKS!

During the COVID-19 crisis, many of us are working from home for the first time. FInding out that HP is failing us at this vital point is disappointing to a new level.  I need a response -- AND ESPECIALLY A SOLUTION -- to this problem as soon as possible. PLEASE!
