Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

  • Step 1: Check the microphone hardware (do not skip any troubleshooting steps if you feel steps are repeating)
  • Step 2: Update the audio driver
  • Step 3: Use the Troubleshooting tool
  • Step 4: Configure the sound settings in Windows
  • Click here: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c03421813 to complete the troubleshooting step.

hello, i passed 2 hours with 2 tech, they told me to resend the machine ....

so, i decided to reinstall windows ... and surprise it worked for a while (i even registered a"normal volume sound"  with windows recorder, then windows updated drivers and the problem came back, so

i found this on the internet : answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/internal-realtek-microphone-array-not-working-in/4402e...

and i followed the last message :

  1. Press Windows logo Key + X
  2. Click on Device manager
  3. Expand Sound, video and game controllers
  4. Right click on Realtek High Definition Audio
  5. Choose Uninstall
  6. Restart your computer and your problem is solved.

and it worked .... i don't know why ... can you explain me what happened exactly (the drivers seams to be the same)

thanks 🙂

Thank you for posting back.

I am glad to know that you managed to resolve the issue. Please reach out again for any further assistance.
To get the answer to this question, this could be a due to Audio driver conflicts. In near future if you come across same issue, just perform driver roll back instead of uninstalling the Audio driver.

Have a nice day ahead.
