I bought a new laptop and was shocked by its terrible audio quality. When listening music it fells like you are listening super cheap chinese speakers without any bass. But seems its because I am missing some utitily (like Omen Audio control / Realtek control panel) to enable Bang & Olufsen enchantments.
But I cannot install it!
What I tried:
I made clean installation of WIndows 11 Pro 23H2 (22631.3958), got latest updates.
I tried to download and install latest version of driver from HP Support.
I tried to install Omen Audio Control manually accordin this guide but getting "realtek audio console doesn't support for this machine".
If I install Realtek Audio control directly from Windows Store it closes immediately after I open it. I tried even with unofficial Realtek drivers. In this case it opens it but barely no features available.

Hi @gerog,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing an issue with missing audio features on your new laptop. Let’s try to resolve this step-by-step:
Check for HP-Specific Software:
- Ensure you’ve installed all HP-specific software available for your model, including the HP Support Assistant, which might help in downloading the correct utilities.
Install the Correct Audio Drivers:
- Go to the HP Support website for your specific laptop model (OMEN by HP 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-wf0000).
- Download and install the latest audio drivers from the support page. Sometimes, the drivers provided directly by HP are tailored to the laptop’s hardware and software configuration.
Check for HP Omen Audio Control:
- The HP Omen Audio Control app might be available through the Microsoft Store or through HP’s official support page.
- If you cannot find it on the Microsoft Store, try contacting HP support to verify if the app is available for your specific model.
Realtek Audio Console:
- The "Realtek Audio Console" app often requires specific drivers to function properly. Ensure you have the latest Realtek drivers installed.
- Sometimes, updating the drivers from the Realtek website might help, but make sure they are compatible with Windows 11.
Check Audio Settings:
- Go to Settings > System > Sound and make sure your output device is selected correctly.
- Click on Device properties and check the enhancements tab to make sure enhancements are enabled if available.
Compatibility Issues:
- Sometimes, the combination of drivers and software can cause compatibility issues. If you are using unofficial drivers, try reverting to official ones.
- Check the HP forums or support community for any similar issues and solutions posted by other users.
Update BIOS and Chipset Drivers:
- Ensure that your BIOS and chipset drivers are up to date. Sometimes, outdated BIOS can cause issues with hardware components.

I hope this helps.

I installed correct audio drivers.
I even tried fresh installation on 22H2 and another version of drivers from my model support page.
Still the same.
I have no HP Audio Contol / Realtek / Omen Utility. If I download them from the store directly best case I see "realtek audio Console doesn't support for this machine" if it even run...
BIOS is latest. And HP Assistant doesn't help (just download what can be downloaded directly from support page).
So I looked further and found (from reviews) that anyway HP was removed a lot of Bang & Olufsen features from the utility make it barely useful.
Also seems that this poor quality its dynamics and no software can fix it (I used Viper4Windows for tests and barely seen changes).
Shame on HP that they install so poor dynamics on gaming laptop which is really expensive I can say!
My previous Lenovo Legion sounds much much better. At least there I can listen music without pain in my ears. Here I was super frustrated cause I even haven't thought that premium gaming laptop can sounds worse that my phone (Galaxy Note 20 Ultra).
I found a solution buying a portable speaker (Lenco BTP-400BK) which can be separated by 2 columns, provides good quality for its price and stereo (and still really compact).
But this is just a hack not a solution that utility cannot be installed or work properly.
