Hello,

The mute button on the keyboard is working properly: I can use the key (F6) to mute and unmute the volume. However, the red light on that key doesn't come up regardless of whether the laptop is muted or not. I've already tried reinstalling Realtek and Chipset drivers, and still couldn't get it to work. Does anyone else have the same problem and found the widely-known troubleshoot not working?

Okay, so I've managed to fix this issue rather easily - here's what I did, if this helps anyone else having the same problem.

(Keep in mind, I'm using Korean Windows 10 so I'm only translating the names and titles of each segment. Hence they can be different from what they really are called)

1. Go to Device Manager

2. Open up tab 'Sound, Video, Game controller'

3. Right click 'Realtek High Definition Audio'

4. Click Uninstall Device

5. Reboot computer (No need to worry about the uninstalled device, your computer will automatically reinstall it for you)

6. Right click on desktop and refresh

7. The red light now should work

Hello,

Please plug headphones into your PC, now attempt muting the volume - using either the button or the slider. Does it work when you do that?

Many thanks

I tired plugging in iPhone earphones, and used both the button and the slider to see if either of them can get the backlit to work - which, unfortunately, none of them did.

Still the mute button itself is working to adjust the volume of the earphones, just not the red light.
