My camera was not working and after looking for new drivers I decided to try, and factory reset the laptop since I didn't have any personal files and would just have to download applications. I factory reset and after setting up I downloaded google chrome and discord, went to check if my camera worked, it did however no one could hear me. I knew at this point I had many drives out of date since the laptop is from 2021 so I update my drivers for the automatic check for update and download divers for amd, intel, windows, and hp. This fixed various other issues but did not fix my microphone situation. I then went to settings > system > sound and saw that there was no device for input. So, then I went to control panel > hardware and sound > sound > recording and saw Stereo Mix using driver Realtek(R) Audio v6.0.9437.1 was disabled so I enabled it. Checked mic through discord then through voice recording app pre-installed on the laptop, neither worked so I restarted my computer and tried both again, nothing. I went to windows support and let the assistant from windows try things and they just made me cycle through all my drivers on my laptop, none worked.

Unfortunately this did not work, the fist portion of what you sent is for external headsets, headphones, and microphones, mine is one built into the computer itself. However I checked the drivers and looked at all to make sure they were the most up to date one, took a little bit of research to find each and everyone but they are indeed all up to date. I then went to the optional updates and 2, both said hp software component so I had hope, after instillation I restarted my computer for good measures even though it didn't prompt me to, it did not work, so I tried turning the computer all the way off and letting it sit for a min or two before turning it on as sometimes that fixes issues I've had in the past, still nothing.

Oh something weird though, is it specifically doesn't pick up voices and some other noises. So if I join a discord call, and someone else joins the mic picks up the sound discord makes, it also picks up notification sounds on my computer and really any noise coming from my computer but will not pick up mine or anyone else's voice no matter how loud I am, furthermore it wont pick up noises of me dropping something or banging things together. No matter the volume of the noise I try to make it wont pick up unless it is the computer itself making the noise. Which is odd.

@Irwin6 I've done even more testing, I have found more odd things on the situation. I went out to find my headphones that connect via usbc that came with my samsung phone, one that connects via aux, and one that connects via bluetooth. All of them will work as a mic but not as headphones, noise comes out the computer only and not through the various headphones, that could be a settings thing, I checked if the usbc and bluetooth work with my phone and they work as both mic and headphones but on the laptop only has a mic. I'm not sure if this or any of the other things ive provided helps at all with figuring out my issue. But I'm just going to give all information I can. Furthermore I am thinking of factory resting the laptop again and checking if the mic works before updating any driver and checking if it works after updating each induvial driver, do you think this is a good idea?
