I just got a Omen 25L, but my mic (Razer Seiren Mini) sounds a lot worse than it did in my old computer. I've tried every port on the computer. Can anyone help?

@hiimvibin, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your Razer Seiren Mini microphone sounds worse on your new Omen 25L compared to your previous PC, there are a few things we can check and adjust to improve the audio quality:
Check USB Port Type
- Ensure you're plugging the mic into a USB 3.0 port (usually blue inside) for optimal performance.
- Avoid using USB hubs or front panel ports initially, try a direct connection to a rear USB port.
Update Audio Drivers
- Go to the HP Support page and enter your Omen 25L model number.
- Download and install the latest Realtek Audio Driver or any chipset drivers available.
Set the Microphone as Default
- Right-click the sound icon in the taskbar → Sounds → Recording tab.
- Select Razer Seiren Mini, click Set Default, then Properties.
- Under the Levels tab, ensure the mic volume is at 100.
Disable Audio Enhancements
- In the same mic Properties window, go to the Enhancements tab (or Advanced tab if Enhancements is missing).
- Check "Disable all enhancements" or uncheck any active enhancements.
- Also, set the default format to 44100 Hz or 48000 Hz (CD/DVD quality).
Check Windows Privacy Settings
- Go to Settings → Privacy → Microphone.
- Ensure microphone access is enabled for apps and Windows.
Update Windows and BIOS
- Make sure your system is fully updated:
- Windows Update: Settings → Update & Security → Windows Update.
- BIOS Update: Use HP Support Assistant to check for BIOS updates.
Test with Another PC
- If possible, test the mic on another PC again to confirm the issue is not with the mic itself.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
